Attention Span needed an editorial site to host our futurism writings, event services, and more. I led the project, working with our design team and development partners to create a top-notch platform for our thinking.

Challenge
Designing the site was easy in theory but more complicated than anticipated in practice. It also coincided with a planned refresh of the look and feel of Attention Span’s main agency page.
The main hurdles were:
- Defining the site’s content and how it would map to the main agency’s website down the road.
- Determining the relationship between this site and the Attention Span agency page.
- Creating a design system that would allow for this site’s content to be displayed appropriately while staying on brand in the larger Attention Span ecosystem.

Process
The team and I spent a good amount of time defining the content that should be hosted on the site, determining how it related to the Attention Span agency site, and deciding on a look and feel that felt related to the main agency’s branding (while still being distinct).
After mapping out the site’s content and structure I confirmed the plans would also match our planned AttentionSpan.com rebuild. I focused on working with our development partners on the look and feel of the site, create moodboards that would span both this site and the planned refresh of the main agency page. I also created wireframes for all of the site’s pages.

Results
The launch was very successful with about 1,000 pageviews a month on average, 50+ insights currently posted to the site, a half dozen events (now recaps) “hosted” on the site, and 50+ Forces of Chance currently posted.
Recently, AttentionFWD has also started monthly email newsletters sharing the team’s “takes” on interesting industry-specific news stories from the week. With about 20 of those now also hosted on the site it has become a home to this more short form type of content as well.
