Brand Bingo

Designing and building a simple-to-run and fun-to-play classic game for a classic company.

Hormel Foods was looking for easy and fun ways to engage their team virtually during the pandemic. What started as a one-off way for employees to spend time together over Zoom spun off into a multi-year multi-game service.

Execution & Results

I programmed a simple-to-run, two-page version of Bingo that allowed one video meeting host (the Bingo caller) run a game while other attendees were able to generate a board and play together in a fun, shared space. The game won several awards, including a gold NYX award for “interactive brand experience.”

“It was a fun game that was ultimately relaxing during the new and uncertain times due to the pandemic. And I never knew we had SO many brands out there, either old, current, or new!”

Hormel Foods Brand Bingo game participant and winner

To date, over 15 versions of the game have been made for various brands and departments within the company and countless employees have participated in games. At its peak nearly 200 team members were participating.
