We helped Hormel Foods design and host a conference with Harvard University to investigate topics critical to the food space, moderate dialogue, and position the company as a top thought leader in the food space.
Objectives
The Attention Span team and I were tasked with leading the design of the entirety of the summit, from panel topics to swag bags and everything in between. Every piece of the project needed to reinforce the positioning of Hormel Foods as a critical thought leader in the space.
In particular, the design team was responsible for the strategy, look, and feel of the event and its marketing. In addition to day-of elements, we also created all social media, web, and digital materials for the event.

Solutions
The team first focused on building The Food Impact Summit website, while simultaneously creating new social media accounts and engaging with attendees.
While laying the groundwork for the event’s online presence, we worked on creating the summit branding and design system, which meant not only designing the logo and supporting graphical elements, but also physical signage, digital screens, and a number of other designs, all of which needed to make the summit feel forward-thinking, professional, and sustainable.

Results
The summit was an overwhelming success, garnering media coverage, launching Hormel Foods’ Small Change Big Impact Challenge, and engaging with members of the business and food communities.
